Chemical
Peels
Chemical Peels exfoliate this layers of dead skin cells and
stimulate valuable collagen production. A chemical solution of
TCA (trichloroacetic acid), AHA's (alphahydroxy acid) and BHA (betahydroxy
acid) are used to improve and smooth the facial skin by removing
the damaged outer layers. The compound is adjusted to meet each
patient's individual needs.
It can be
used in the treatment of facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven
skin pigmentation. While chemical peels are often performed in
conjunction with a face lift, it is no way a substitute for such
surgery, nor will it prevent or slow the aging process.
Deciding
If A Chemical Peel Is Right For You
A chemical peel is most commonly performed for cosmetics
reasons - to enhance your appearance and self confidence. It may
also remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften facial scars and
even control acne.
